Formating

Data Agent lets you define formatting rules for each column to ensure consistent, readable, and structured outputs.

Column formatting affects how data is displayed, parsed, and validated — especially for numerical or financial values.

Column Types

  • Each column can be assigned a type, which determines how the output is rendered and interacted with:

  • Text — Default freeform output (sentences, names, categories).

  • Number — Plain numeric values; enables sorting and numeric operations.

  • Date — Parsed into standard date formats for consistency.

  • Link — Detects and formats URLs with clickable output.

  • Currency — Displays numerical value with currency formatting (e.g., $1,200.00).

Currency Formatting Options

  • When you select Currency as a column type, you can also:

  • Choose the number of decimal places (e.g., 0, 2, or 4).

  • Automatically include or omit currency symbols ($, and etc.).

Best Practice Tip

  • Use Number or Currency types whenever downstream calculations are needed.

  • Standardize Date formats across your tables for clean filtering and comparison.

  • Keep Text reserved for unstructured or descriptive fields.
