Configure Columns

Columns define how Data Agent extracts, transforms, and enriches your information. There are two types of columns available, depending on the complexity of the task.

1. Simple Columns

  • Perform direct extraction of specific fields from uploaded documents.

  • No transformation, no external search — just pull structured data.

2. Smart Columns

  • Execute more advanced AI tasks like calculations, data validation, and comparisons.

  • Smart Columns can also be configured with specific URLs or domains to search for external data enrichment.

Example AI Tasks.:

Calculate a Financial Health Score based on multiple extracted fields.
Summarize business risks from a company’s SEC filing found via web search.
Extract employee count from the company's LinkedIn page.

Best Practice

Use Simple Columns for direct, fast extractions.
Use Smart Columns whenever you need AI-driven transformations, calculations, or external data enrichment tied to a domain.
